Leave No Trace is one of the most important principles of Burning Man 🔥 and therefore LAMPU. It implies not just leaving no traces behind - garbage in any form, this principle carries a deeper meaning and the organization of the life at the event itself. It is about feeling our immersiveness, involvement and responsibility for what we leave behind 🌸

The LNT team is responsible for organizing the sorting and removal processes of waste. The leaders and volunteers of the site will broadcast the rules of environmental friendliness to the participants and support them. Besides:

1️⃣ During building and dismantling days, participants must take all construction waste to a waste sorting site;

2️⃣ LNT volunteers will be on duty at the garbage collection points in shifts and will also monitor the overflow of the tanks and the absence of garbage in the event area as a whole. If you faced some problem with garbage on the event location, please kindly tell the LNT leaders about that so they could solve it ASAP;

3️⃣ If the location involves food, drinks, or just a large amount of garbage, then volunteers will organize an additional garbage collection point;

During the days of the event, each camp will have its own sorting bins with replaceable bags for organic waste - for food waste - and for everything that can be recycled - plastic, paper, glass ♻️ when these bins are full, the campers themselves must carry the filled bags to the garbage sorting site📍 Important: this is the responsibility of each camp. Spare packs will be given to camp leaders in advance. If your camp is lack of the packages at any time please immediately contact the LNT volunteers.

‼️ Important: when the event is over we will make a Moop map: each camp must make sure that there is no trace left in the camp area. After dismantling, you need to take a picture of your camp location and send the photo to the leader of Leave No Trace.
